Beating The Laundry by just two votes this year – after being tied for first place last year – The Barley Tap and Tavern was voted best bar in town for both beers and ambiance.

Entering his third year of ownership, Justin Keys quickly made it a local favorite, with 31 beers on tap and a list that rotates almost daily. He also opened the doors of The Barley’s to almost every nonprofit in town by hosting fundraisers and serving as a meeting place.

But it’s the beer and the joy that brings people back.

“Craft beer is our core concern,” says Keys, who also offers a wine, cocktail and food program. “It’s these beers that are unique, rare and not on other taps in town. There is no formula for what we have. We try to balance it out so that even the pickiest beer drinker has something they can enjoy.
